Lunch AND a class AND a new mug

Join us for an epic day of creativity. Karra Wise is a potter, food stylist and creator of “In the Shed” events and makers markets. She is opening up her studio in the Mt. Baker neighborhood to teach a three-hour class as a great intro to pottery. Together we’ll each make something with clay, ie. a mug, a plant pot, spoon rest, or ANYTHING using various hand building techniques such as the the coil and pinch technique.

After your pottery is fired, it will be finished by Karra with a shear white glaze. Your piece will be available for pickup in approx 4-6 weeks In The Shed following the workshop.Clay, tools and glaze provided. This workshop is designed for people with little or no experience with hand building… but all are welcome.

There will be an hour break during class to enjoy a family style lunch cooked over fire and hosted in the garden.

Our menu:
Grilled chèvre wrapped in a fig leaf with lovage focaccia and grilled grapes
Slow-grilled cabbage with anchovy vinaigrette, lots of dill, sunflower seeds and lemon zest
Smashed potatoes with grilled vegetable chutney
Smokey chicken with roasted peppers, grilled lemon and parsley
Mini strawberry shortcakes
